Volume 4, Number 2 August 2013

SORRY! This issue is a little late and somewhat abbreviated. Just a few days before launch date we lost our main development server. The good news is most data was backed up. The bad news is the word "most". You've heard it a thousand times: back up your data regularly. Really good practice that's often learned the hard way.

AFAS returns to Pebble Beach for its annual premiere exhibition. This is the Society's most important activity of the year showcasing the members' latest works from the past 12 months. A juried show, it is also the Society's annual opportunity to recognize outstanding work created by the members. The quality of the exhibit space was significantly upgraded in 2012 with the support of sponsor Lincoln. The new tent and high quality interior insures that this is the largest, highest quality and most important automotive art exhibition in North America. The Society was recently delighted to announce that Lincoln has returned as sponsor and the outstanding exhibit space returns.

I've been privileged to know Bill Neale for over 20 years. Board member Bill and his wonderful wife Nelda have been pillars within the AFAS organization. Bill's longstanding relationship with the late Carroll Shelby is well known and has fostered a stream of paintings showcasing Shelby and his cars. We're happy to present a first person reminiscence of that relationship.
